How can I quickly test that fees are calculating OK

Step 1

Take a look at the Fees Panel on the event landing page:

Under a standard set up this will show the system’s understanding of your fee levels. Does it look right?

Step 2

Check that your event is in draft mode and is open for entries:

Tip: It is ok to use this method when in live mode as you don’t actually make a payment.

Step 3

Go to your event landing page and tap on the Enter Now button. Login as normal.

Step 4

Tap on one of your profile names – or “Sign up someone else” to launch the entry form:

(I’m going to use Joe Bloggs for testing)

Step 5

Complete the entry form to match one of your fees:

Here we can see that Joe is being entered as a non-member junior, hiring a timing device.

Save the entry.

Step 6

Review your Pending Entries to check that the correct fee has been calculated:

Happy?

Step 7

Tap on the Amend button to re-open your test competitor’s entry form. Make an adjustment to the entry details, date of birth, member/non-member or hiring, or whatever you need to change to check another fee.

Tap Update on the entry form.

Further Steps

Repeat Steps 6 & 7 until all the permutations are tested.

Last Step

Tap on the red Remove from basket button.

Testing Fee Bands set in the future

You may well have late entry fees that have a future start date. We recommend that you do test these as well. To do so you will need to set the fee band start date to the past, carry out your test and set the date back again.
