Set up an orienteering event for age class competition

Some orienteering events require competitors to enter a specific class. In this type of event one course will be hosting one or more competition classes.

To set this up for your event:

  • On The Event tab, select the Event type as “Class competition” and Save;
  • Decide on the matrix of classes to courses;
  • Add your courses on the Courses tab;
  • Add the competition classes on the Classes tab, selecting the Course that the Class is competing on;
  • On Entry Form – Standard Items include classID as required. Do not include courseID.

If your event is using start lanes and times:

  • Add the start lanes on the Start Lanes tab.;
  • Edit each Course and assign it to the relevant Start Lane;
  • On Entry Form – Standard Items include startLaneSlotID as required and if necessary adjust the Display Order
    so that it appears under classID;
  • When the entrant selects their Class the system will assign them to the related Course and display the
    available start times for that Course.
