When managing an orienteering event that is an area or regional championship, you can configure your event so that the “Eligibility” indicator is included in the SI Timing Export file.
Racesignup validates BO membership for events as described here: Validate British Orienteering Membership This validation also sets the entry’s Orienteering Association as defined in the membership database. The Association can then be used to define championship eligibility and pass an indicator to SI Timing. SI Timing entry screen and results can then be configured to show championship eligibility
The Race Admin setting is at Setup >> The Event >> Orienteering Championship
Select the relevant championship and Save.
Taking the Southern Championship as an example. In Data Exports >> Event Data Exports >> SI Timing the Eligibility column will contain a “Y” for any entry that has a valid BO membership with the orienteering association set as SCOA, SEOA or SWOA:
Before importing the entries into SI Timing, set the Eligibility Name/Letter as required:
Note for multi-phase events
The Championship indicator is set at the Event level. You may well have a multi-phase event that has one Championship event and one non-Championship event. When you are exporting entry records for SI Timing for the non-championship event you can do one of the following:
- Set the Orienteering Championship to “(none)” then do the export;
- or, delete the “Y”s from the Eligibility column in the exported file before importing;
- or, set the SI Timing Eligibility Name/Letter the same as for the championship event and not include it when configuring results;
- or, ignore the errors that are generated when importing the entries as they will have no impact:
